A new Yoruba film, Apaara is expected for release at an unannounced date this year, as the film brings together not less than 600 Nollywood actors.
Shot in Akure, Ondo state, the film is produced by Damilare Adebayo and directed by Sunday Alabi Osibata and Damola Olatunji. Starring in the film are Ibrahim Chatta, Iyabo Ojo, Antar Laniyan, Yemi Shodimu, Bimbo Oshin, Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin), and Muyiwa Ademola.
“Apaara is here to correct societal wrongs. It is a world-class project that will speak for itself,” said film director Damola Olatunji during the unveiling of the artwork for the film, as he expressed admiration for the storyline, characters and producers. “All we need is support and engagement. The multimillion naira project will, among other things, boost economic activities in the state”.
Damola Olatunji praised the Ondo state government for creating a friendly environment to nurture talents and creativity in the state and for the provision of security over lives and properties.
Executive producer and CEO of Modern Star Investment Limited, Damilare Adebayo, reiterated his commitment to the project, stating that he was inspired by the well-drafted script which enlivens a captivating, thought-provoking story.
