Sprinng is currently accepting submissions for 2024. This opportunity is open to African writers, allowing them to submit poetry, fiction (including flash fiction and short stories), or creative nonfiction (such as essays and book reviews) on any theme of their choice.
Founded in 2016 by Oyindamola Shoola and Kanyinsola Olorunnisola in Nigeria, Sprinng is a non-profit organization committed to curating, revitalizing, and transforming Nigerian literature. It has created a vibrant network that empowers diverse African writers, amplifies their voices, and celebrates their literary contributions.
Submission Guidelines:
- Eligibility: African writers of any age can submit their work.
- Number of Submissions: Writers may submit up to two pieces (of the same or different genres) during this submission period.
- Publication History: Submitted work should not have been previously published elsewhere (whether on a literary platform, personal blog, or social media).
- Editing and Proofreading: Ensure that your work is well-edited and proofread.
- Formatting: Use Times New Roman, Font size 12, single-spaced for your submissions. If this font isn’t accessible to you, feel free to use any legible font.
- Photographs: Do not include photographs in your submission document.
- Payment: Currently, Sprinng offers a token payment of N3,500 per accepted piece.
Response Time: Entries will be reviewed on a rolling basis between January and March 2024. If your work is accepted, you’ll be informed, and it will be published on the Sprinng website in 2024.
