Alma Asinobi, a 26-year-old Nigerian travel content creator, has achieved a remarkable feat by visiting all seven continents in just 71 hours, 26 minutes, and 25 seconds. Her journey concluded in Sydney, Australia, where she proudly displayed the Nigerian flag, symbolising her nation’s presence on every continent.
Asinobi’s ambitious endeavour aimed to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all seven continents, a title recently set at 64 hours by U.S. Air Force veteran Johnny Cruz Buckingham in February 2025. Despite her valiant effort, visa complications, particularly a delay in obtaining entry to Australia, extended her travel time beyond the targeted 60 hours.
Throughout her journey, Asinobi sought to highlight the challenges faced by travellers holding ‘low-mobility’ passports, such as that of Nigeria, which ranks 88th on the 2025 Henley Passport Index. She encountered various obstacles, including flight delays and stringent visa requirements, underscoring the disparities in global travel accessibility.
Beyond her recent travels, Asinobi is the founder of Kaijego, a platform dedicated to assisting Africans in realising their travel aspirations. Her passion for exploration and storytelling has positioned her as a prominent figure in promoting travel within the African community.
Reflecting on her journey, Asinobi expressed a mix of accomplishment and determination, stating, “Our Nigerian flag is officially the first and fastest flag to visit all 7 continents! I guess my work here is done. I cannot wait to be homeeeee.”
Her achievement has garnered widespread acclaim, inspiring many and drawing attention to the broader issues of travel inequality. Asinobi’s experience serves as a testament to resilience and the pursuit of one’s dreams, regardless of the hurdles encountered.
