Ebuka Njoku, the director behind Yahoo+, is set to release his follow-up film titled “UNO: The F in Family”. After the success of the 2022 minimal dark drama, this new movie is confirmed to be distributed by Cinemax and will hit theaters on May 17, 2024.
The plot revolves around a prodigal son who returns home after a ten-year absence. His arrival forces the family to confront unresolved issues and reevaluate their relationships. What starts as a seemingly harmless return quickly escalates into a battleground for old wounds, humorous one-upmanship, and enough laughter to make even the most dysfunctional family feel relatable.
“UNO: The F in Family” features a talented ensemble cast, including Nkem Owoh, Jennifer Eliogu, Keezyto, Sophia Chisom, Tomi Ojo, Abayomi Alvin, DJ Capello, and Chimamanda Ukwueze. According to the press release, the film promises to deliver quality storytelling and exceptional performances.
Director Njoku, who also wrote the film, shared that he wanted to create something enjoyable for his mother, who found Yahoo+ too dark. His goal was to make a movie that could bring families together and inspire love.
Cinemax, known for distributing films like “Brotherhood” (produced by Jade Osiberu) and “Ada Omo Daddy” (produced by Mercy Aigbe), will bring “UNO: The F in Family” to cinemas nationwide starting from May 17, 2024.
