Nigerian Student Breaks Guinness Record for Skipping on One Foot

A 17-year-old Nigerian student has broken the Guinness World Record for the most skips on one foot in 30 seconds. Philip Solomon, who attends Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, achieved this feat on January 24, 2023, when he recorded 153 skips on one foot in half a minute. This surpassed the previous record of 145 skips set by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh in 2021.

Solomon said he was inspired by Islam’s video and started training to beat his record. He also participated in a skipping world championship and received recognition for his skill. Guinness World Records officially confirmed Solomon’s record on Tuesday, May 23, four months after his attempt.

Solomon’s achievement has been celebrated by many Nigerians on social media, who praised him for his talent and perseverance. He is one of the many Nigerians who have entered the Guinness Book of Records for various feats in recent times.
