In his new debut poetry collection, Conversations With Midnight, Nigerian poet Ochoche Agada delivers a collection of 80 poems that blend lyrical storytelling with unflinching honesty. Published by Paperworth Books, the collection invites readers to journey through the realities of human resilience, fear, hope, and triumph.

According to a statement released by the publisher, the collection is expected to draw deeply from cultural memory and landscapes both familiar and symbolic. From moonlit gatherings beneath the Iroko tree to meditative pauses in quiet highland forests, Conversations with Midnight will map the delicate balance between community and solitude.

In Agada’s own words: “As dusk falls and we confront our innermost thoughts, Conversations With Midnight becomes our companion. These poems are meant to resonate, inspire, provoke, and sometimes chastise. They speak to the soul when the world is quiet.”

Ochoche Aklo Agada is a multifaceted storyteller and poet with a profound love for African history and folklore. He is a graduate of political science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with a master’s degree in business management from Newcastle Business School, University of Northumbria. Driven by a deep connection to his African heritage, Ochoche’s work explores the rich tapestry of African stories, delving into human civilisation’s evolution, structure, and essence. His writing reflects a profound curiosity about the physical, natural, and metaphysical realms, offering readers a distinctive perspective rooted in cultural and African traditions.
