Introducing The Moveee Literary: A New Home for Exceptional Writing

Since our inception in 2022, The Moveee has been dedicated to culture journalism, occasionally publishing compelling fiction, nonfiction, and poetry alongside our broader coverage. Today, as we evolve our vision to give these literary forms the dedicated space they deserve, we are thrilled to officially announce the launch of The Moveee Literary—a new platform focused entirely on stories, ideas, and people. Positioned as a specialized home for fiction, essays, and poetry, we are committed to amplifying voices capable of traveling beyond borders and publishing writing that shapes the world.

Every literary magazine is, ultimately, an argument about what deserves to be read, remembered, and carried forward. As we begin building this new foundation, we are delighted to welcome award-winning writer and editor Mustapha Enesi as our Managing Editor.

Mustapha joins us to helm our editorial direction and work closely with our contributing writers. He brings an exceptional eye for storytelling, backed by more than five years of editorial and communications experience spanning Nigeria and the United Kingdom. His impressive editorial resume includes previous roles at respected publications such as Litro Magazine, The Republic, and Agbowó.

Beyond his editorial expertise, Mustapha is a highly decorated author whose work continues to make waves in the literary community. His writing has been featured in several prominent literary journals, including Harvard University’s Transition Magazine, Isele Magazine, The Maine Review, Afritondo, and Peatsmoke Journal. His debut short story collection, I Cry at the Feet of My Other Body, recently garnered critical acclaim and was named one of Open Country Magazine’s 60 Notable Books of 2025. His work has received recognition from a host of prestigious literary awards, including the Bridport Short Story Prize, Commonwealth Short Story Prize, Afritondo Short Story Prize, Awele Creative Trust Award, and the K & L Prize for African Literature.
