Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has achieved another milestone with his fourth studio album, Timeless, which was released in March 2023. The album, which features hit songs like Unavailable, Kante, and Away, has been named one of the best albums of 2023 so far by Rolling Stone magazine.
The prestigious American culture publication praised Timeless as “an emotive mix of defiant Amapiano, confident club anthems, and jazzy Afrobeats” that reflects Davido’s resilience and creativity after the tragic loss of his son in 2022. The magazine also noted that Timeless feels “super purposeful” and showcases Davido’s influence and versatility as an Afrobeats artist.
Davido expressed his gratitude and excitement on Twitter, where he quote tweeted a screenshot of the Rolling Stone article made by an account named @davido_stat and wrote: “We bless God.”
Timeless is Davido’s first album since A Better Time in 2020, which was also critically acclaimed and commercially successful. The album has received positive reviews from fans and critics alike, and has also charted on several platforms, including Billboard, Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
