The BBC recently offered a tantalizing glimpse into the upcoming Mr Loverman TV series, based on Booker Prize-winning author Bernardine Evaristo’s 2013 novel of the same name. This eight-part drama is set to air later this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Mr Loverman delves into the lives of Britain’s older Caribbean community, weaving a tale of family dynamics, queer love, and self-discovery. The central character, 74-year-old Barrington Jedidiah Walker, was born in Antigua but now resides in Hackney, London. Leading a dual existence, Barrington is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, while secretly harboring a passionate love for his childhood friend, Morris. The question looms: Can Barrington break free from his marriage to Carmel and embrace his true feelings for Morris?

Filming for Mr Loverman took place in London and Antigua, resulting in stunning stills that showcase the cast, costumes, and locations. As the series prepares to debut later this year, viewers eagerly anticipate the chance to binge-watch this captivating drama.
