Nigerian singer and Banku pioneer Mr Eazi is set to release his debut album on October 27, and he has a special surprise for his fans. The album will be accompanied by an international exhibition of African art, featuring 13 artists from the continent who have created unique artworks for each song.
Mr Eazi, who is known for his fusion of Nigerian and Ghanaian sounds, has collaborated with artists to visually express the themes and emotions of eache track in the album.
The exhibition will be launched at Somerset House in London as part of the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair from October 12 to 15. The fair will showcase 110 emerging and established artists from Africa and its diaspora, celebrating the diversity and creativity of the continent.
The exhibition will then travel to Lagos, Accra, and New York, where Mr Eazi’s fans can experience his album in a new and immersive way. Mr Eazi said that he wanted to create a bond with his artist friends and unlock the ideas, emotion, and energy within his music.
“I formed a true bond with many of my artist friends. The artworks visually unlock the ideas, emotion, and energy within my music,” he said. “I’m proud to be from Africa and I hope to inspire people to appreciate the beauty and richness of our culture.”
