Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s latest novel, Dream Count, has experienced remarkable demand, leading to widespread sell-outs across Nigeria shortly after its release on 4 March 2025. Lagos-based publisher Narrative Landscape Press reported that the first print run exceeded expectations, with bookstores nationwide quickly depleting their stock.
In response to this overwhelming interest, plans for a “Dream Count Homecoming Tour” are underway, with Adichie set to visit multiple Nigerian cities in the coming months. Specific dates and locations are yet to be announced.
Dream Count is Adichie’s first novel since 2013’s Americanah. The narrative follows four women—Chiamaka, Zikora, Omelogor, and Kadiatou—as they navigate love, longing, and personal challenges. Set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the novel delves into themes of self-discovery and resilience
The novel has garnered widespread acclaim, being highlighted as a most anticipated book of 2025 by several publications, including The Washington Post, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle.
For readers in the UK, Dream Count is available for purchase through various retailers, including Amazon UK.
